In Loving Memory of those that did not make it out, Rest in Peace My Little Friends ~
Until We Meet At The Rainbow Bridge
Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are make whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; his eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together…

Peace, Love and Animals goes through great lengths when finding our pets the perfect home.
Peace, Love and Animals has a multistep adoption process to ensure that every animal we send to a home will be sent to the perfect home for life. If you are interested in adoption please read through the process below.
1. First fill out our Adoption Application and send it to us: Adoption Application (PDF).

During review, your vet will be contacted for reference on past and present pets. If you currently don't have pets and do not have a vet, we recommend checking for vets in your area and have one selected for when we do a home visit.
2. The next step involves a home visit
We strongly feel that this is one of the most important steps to in our adoption process. Home visits tell us if the pet is compatible with other pets that you may already have and that the pet doesn't have any problems with its new environment. The pet should feel comfortable with the surrounding environment, and meeting all the members of your entire family. The home visit gives us the opportunity to know if everyone is in agreement to the adoption and is comfortable with it.
3. Adoption contract and adoption fee
After the home visit and you are approved for adoption, there is an adoption fee as well as an adoption contract. The contract is your word in writing that you will take the best care for the pet and that they will live out the rest of their lives with a loving family. The fee helps us cover some of our vetting expenses of the pet, including vaccinations and neutering/spaying.
Introducing a new pet to your home can be stressful for both you and your new addition. This is especially true if there are children or other animals in the home. Being prepared ahead of time will go a long way toward making the homecoming experience an easy one for everyone.
Make sure to have everything your pet will need -- food, bowls, leash, dog collar, dog bed, and toys -- before you bring him or her home. The presence of these items will help assure your new pet that everything is going to be all right.

Fostering a pet is a wonderful way to help a homeless animal.
One way is to provide a loving a loving home environment for the pet while waiting to be adopted. While the pet is living in your home, he/she is learning social skills that will enhance their adoptability.
Another method of fostering is having the pet live in your home for an adjustment period to ensure that the pet you have chosen is the perfect fit for you and your family. After a week or two of fostering, with a comfortable connection between you and the pet, you can then complete the adoption process.

Tips for Reporting Animal Cruelty
Once you have found out which law enforcement agent you should speak to, it’s important to provide him or her with a concise, written, factual statement of what you observed, giving dates and approximate times whenever possible. If at all feasible, try to photograph the abusive situation and date your pictures. It would also be helpful to get short, factual written statements from other witnesses.
When you call to report animal cruelty, always make sure to keep a careful record of exactly whom you contact, the date of the contacts and the content and outcome of your discussion. Never give away a document without making a copy for your file! Make it clear to the agent that you are very interested in pursuing the case, and that you are willing to lend whatever assistance you can.
Follow Up if Necessary
If you don’t receive a response from the officer assigned to your case within a reasonable length of time, don’t be afraid to present your information to his or her supervisor and, if necessary, to local government officials, such as the county commissioner, and ask them to act.
If you have witnessed the cruel act yourself, you can go to your local police commissioner and ask to swear out a warrant to summon the accused person to court. Remember that expert witnesses are sometimes necessary in animal cruelty cases. A veterinarian can also sign a statement that it is his or her “expert opinion” that the animal presented is a victim of abuse, and how. Expert opinions can often make or break a case, so if you happen to know a sympathetic veterinarian, you may wish to seek his or her assistance. Make sure you inform the officer that you have expert testimony to support your case.
Websites that Depict Animal Cruelty
The Internet delivers an array of images and ideas into homes every day from around the world. Some of what is being sold and shown online may depict criminal activity. In many areas, there are laws against showing and selling these images.
To report websites that display acts of cruelty to animals, please contact the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Justice.
